When is the 2019 FA Community Shield and who is in it? All you need to know

Find out the date and details of the 2019 FA Community Shield.

Where is the 2019 FA Community Shield being played?

The full details have not yet been confirmed by the Football Association, but traditionally the final would be played at Wembley Stadium in London.

The stadium has an official capacity of 90,000 for football, but the largest attendance was 89,874 in for the 2008 FA Cup final (Cardiff City vs. Portsmouth).

The ground, which re-opened in May 2007 after a complete rebuild, is England’s nation stadium and hosts all major finals plus other events such as NFL and concerts.

Who is in the final?

The winners of the Premier League will face the winners of the FA Cup.

So Manchester City will definitely be in the match as champions. If they also win the FA Cup, they will play Liverpool (as Premier League runners-up) in the Community Shield. If Watford win the FA Cup, then it will be a repeat of the final as the two teams meet once more.

When does the match kick off?

Traditionally, the match will take place on Sunday, Aug. 4 — the weekend before the Premier League begins — though this date, and the kickoff time, have not yet been announced.

Who is the referee?

The FA will announce the match referee closer to the game.

Who won the FA Community Shield last year?

Manchester City beat Chelsea 2-0 with both goals coming from Sergio Aguero.
