The winter transfer window is closed, but now it’s time to look ahead to the summer! Here are the new rumours floating around Europe’s big leagues and beyond.

No change of heart from Pogba

Manchester United, and more specifically Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, have made it clear that they will be extending Paul Pogba‘s contract.

However, as per Calciomercato, the World Cup winner still wants to leave Old Trafford, with Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all potential options for him to move to.

There are questions asked about whether the decision to extend his deal could simply be an aid to their negotiating position as Pogba looks set to leave.

Whatever happens, it is likely we will be hearing a lot more about this move.

Barcelona chasing a quartet of signings

Barcelona are using the coronavirus-imposed break in order to start work on bringing in four players, according to Sport.

They are after a centre-back (who will ideally be left-footed), a full-back, a centre-midfielder and a goal-scoring striker.

Names are not given for three of those positions, but it is said the key target is Internazionale frontman Lautaro Martinez, as they look to bring in somebody who can come in to replace the aging Luis Suarez.

Napoli eyeing up Andrea Belotti

Napoli may sell Arkadiusz Milik during the summer transfer window, bringing in Andrea Belotti to replace him, according to Calciomercato.

The Poland international has so far refused to accept a new contract — with his current deal coming to an end in the summer of 2021 — which means they are willing to sell him to avoid losing him for nothing.

They have compiled a list of players who could replace him, which is topped by Torino striker Belotti, who has scored 15 goals across Serie A and the Europa League this season.

Luka Jovic is also said to be an option, who would cost around €45 million after his struggles at Real Madrid.

Deal made could benefit both Real Madrid and PSG

Alphonse Areola’s loan move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid could be made permanent in the summer, according to AS.

This offers the Spanish giants another option alongside Belgian stopper Thibaut Courtois, having already impressed those at the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, the deal also frees up funds and a space in the squad at Parc de Princes, which the Parisians hope to use to bring in Gianluigi Donnarumma.

– Internazionale are weighing up a move for Sassuolo’s Jeremie Boga, as reported by Calciomercato.

They are showing an interest in the former Chelsea man, as are Napoli, but Antonio Conte has still yet to decide on whether he feels the move should be completed.

The stumbling point at this time is whether it is felt that the 23-year-old will be able to adapt to their system.

– Steve Bruce has admitted that the future of young Newcastle United midfielder Matty Longstaff is a “concern,” as reported by the Mirror.

The Magpies are hoping to tie the 19-year-old, and his brother Sean, to new deals, but Longstaff’s situation is perhaps the most concerning as his current deal comes to its culmination in the summer.

Therefore, Bruce is keen to tie Newcastle’s No. 43, who has made six Premier League starts this term, down to a new deal.

– Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s loan move from Arsenal to AS Roma could be made permanent, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Gunners are open to letting the Armenia international leave, but the deal could hinge on how much they are willing to accept for the 31-year-old.

He has been limited to just eight Serie A starts and five substitute appearances, but he has scored six goals and assisted three more.
