Tim Tszyu appears to want to continue his fighting career even after his most recent stoppage loss.
With a little bit of time to think back on his knockout loss to Sebastian Fundora in their recent rematch, Tim Tszyu posts a message to all his supporters to give his thanks and admit that while things didn’t go his way, he doesn’t intend to stray from his goals. Presumably this means Tszyu won’t be retiring from boxing going forward.
“I was just thinking about when I first started this sport,” Tszyu said. “What I said was I wanted to get to the very, very top and I didn’t mind crashing and burning on the way up. Sitting here now, we did crash and burn but we’ll still move forward. Some things go your way, some things don’t. What happened last weekend, it didn’t go my way but we still move forward.
“Sometimes it’s who you become in the pursuit of greatness rather than the result itself and sitting here now I’m proud to say I’ve become a different person on my pursuit of greatness…Appreciate everyone’s support. I’m sorry I couldn’t get the victory, he was just the better man and I’ll just have to accept that even though it’s hard.
“I gave it my all and, yeah, we move on. The goal doesn’t change.”
Tszyu has lost three of his last four fights, two by knockout, and he’ll have some serious rebuilding to do if he’s intent on making another run at a world title.
