Pistons Focused On Internal Growth, Not Star Trades

The Detroit Pistons have taken another leap this season. After going from the bottom of the standings to the playoffs last season, the Pistons are now leading the Eastern Conference. With good financial flexibility, all of their own draft picks and young talent, many have speculated that Detroit could pursue a star player in a trade.

The Pistons aren’t likely to go that direction. Detroit is focused on development of their own players, as opposed to trading for a star player.

Sources described the Pistons approach to the trade deadline as opportunistic vs aggressive. Trajan Langdon will look to improve his team’s roster, but doesn’t appear likely to go all in for a player like Anthony Davis ahead of the trade deadline.
