New York Knicks to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of 1969-70 Championship Team

NEW YORK, NY (February 28, 2020) – The New York Knicks announced today that the organization will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the team’s 1970 NBA Championship with a special tribute night on Saturday, March 21 against the Golden State Warriors. The Knicks will honor the 1969-70 Championship team during a halftime ceremony on court at Madison Square Garden, hosted by MSG Networks Knicks play-by-play announcer and 2020 Curt Gowdy Media Award recipient, Mike Breen. Members and family of the 1969-70 team, who defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games to take the title, will be on hand to commemorate the anniversary.

Fans attending the game can expect 1970’s themed in-game elements including contests and performances as well as giveaways. Additionally, Knicks fans celebrating 50 years or more of Season Ticket Membership will be recognized in-arena throughout the evening, highlighting their dedication to the team they’ve been supporting for five decades and more.
