Jeremy Sochan plans to sign with the New York Knicks once he clears waivers. Sochan had 10 teams interested in signing him after he was waived by the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
San Antonio drafted Sochan with the ninth overall selection in the 2022 NBA Draft. In four seasons with the Spurs, the Baylor alum averaged 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 25.3 minutes.
This season in 53 games with the Spurs, Sochan averaged 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 12.8 minutes.
Because the Knicks traded away Guerschon Yabusele ahead of the deadline, they went from approximately $148,000 below the second apron to $1.148 million and that allowed them to acquire Jose Alvarado in a separate trade and also sign Sochan to the prorated veteran minimum.
