After Wednesday’s loss to the Mavericks, the Warriors will look to solidify a .500 road trip when they visit the Jazz on Friday night in Salt Lake City. This will be the second of this season’s four meetings between the two teams, as the Dubs lost at home to the Jazz, 122-108 on November 11.

PASCHALL ACCEPTING ALL CHALLENGES
Rookie Eric Paschall has already displayed a relentlessness in attacking on offense this season, taking on some of the NBA’s top players when driving towards the bucket. Paschall put his fearlessness on display once again in Wednesday’s contest against the Dallas Mavericks. With the final seconds ticking off the clock in the second quarter, Paschall received a pass at the left elbow. With his momentum already headed towards the baseline, he opted to drive to the bucket where he took Kristaps Porzingis, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Dwight Powell to the rim. Even with three bodies in front of him, Paschall still found a way to finish with the dunk. A shorthanded team playing the final game of a four-game road trip at elevation, the Warriors will certainly welcome any kind of spark that a play like that can ignite.

UTAH SCOUTING REPORT
The top priority of the Jazz is defense: the team excels at covering their opponents’ shots from both inside and beyond the arc, limiting other teams to an average of 101.1 points per game, while also grabbing over 37 defensive rebounds, ranking them in top five in both categories. But besides a staunch defense and coming at the Warriors with a three-point barrage in their previous meeting, the team enters each matchup with a variety of ways to score. Donovan Mitchel enters Friday’s game with career highs in points (24.8) and shooting percentage (45.6), which stems from his ability to attack the rim. Covering the paint and scoring from inside is the seven-foot-one-inch Rudy Gobert (13.8 points, 68.8 percent field goal percentage). And then there is the subtle but lethal addition to the Utah squad this season was Bojan Bogdanovic, signed this summer after two seasons with the Indiana Pacers, who is making almost three shots from beyond the arc each game to for a career-high 19.7 points. Gobert, Mitchell and Mike Conley (14.9 points per game) all scored over 20 points in this season’s prior Warriors-Jazz matchup, making how the Dubs defend them something to watch for in this Friday night tilt.
