Hornets Appear Willing To Listen To LaMelo Ball Trade Offers

While LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets have each given clear signals that they’d prefer to make the situation work and avoid a trade, the topic will likely remain one that the league tracks closely leading up to the 2026 NBA trade deadline.

When asked to respond to the initial report, Ball said he loves being with the Hornets and hopes to remain with the franchise.

“The Hornets have definitely given other teams the impression they will listen to offers for him,” wrote Jake Fischer during his Friday chat.

Ball is averaging 21.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 9.6 assists in 31.4 minutes over nine games this season. Ball, who is represented by Sam Permut, has $130 million remaining over the next three seasons on his contract.
