Seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams is through to the round of 16 at the All-England Club for a 16th time, while Petra Kvitova, Karolina Pliskova, Barbora Strycova, Johanna Konta, Elina Svitolina, Carla Suárez Navarro, Petra Martic and Simona Halep having also made it this far at the Championships so far in their careers.

Also in the round of 16 are a trio of main draw debutants: Coco Gauff, Karolina Muchova and Dayana Yastremska, all of whom are making their first-ever appearance in the women’s singles draw at Wimbledon.

There are two teenagers, Gauff and Yastremska, in the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time since Monica Puig and Laura Robson made it that round in 2013.

At 15 years and 122 days at the end of the tournament, Gauff is the youngest player to reach the last 16 at a major since Anna Kournikova at 1996 US Open and at Wimbledon since Jennifer Capriati’s semifinal run in 1991.

Barty, Kvitova, Muchova, Strycova, Suárez Navarro and Zhang Shuai are all yet to drop a set en route to appearances in the round of 16.

Top-ranked Barty takes on grass-court specialist Alison Riske in the first match on No.2 Court on Monday: Barty, who has only lost one set in her current 15-match winning streak, lost to Riske in their lone meeting on grass in an ITF event in 2016.

Pliskova and compatriot Muchova are playing at a Grand Slam for the second time this season, with the higher-ranked Czech taking a straight sets victory in the first round of the Australian Open in January.
