Warriors vs. Spurs odds: 2019 NBA picks, predictions for Nov. 1 from proven computer model

DeMar DeRozan and the San Antonio Spurs will take on Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors at 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday at the Chase Center in a Western Conference clash of teams looking to turn around slow starts. Golden State is 1-3 overall and 0-2 at home, while San Antonio is 3-1 overall and 0-1 on the road. Neither team has fared well against the spread — San Antonio is 0-4, while Golden State is 1-3. San Antonio is favored by six points in the latest Warriors vs. Spurs odds, while the over-under is set at 225. Before entering any Spurs vs. Warriors picks, you’ll want to see the NBA predictions from the model at SportsLine.

This model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times, and anyone who followed it last season saw massive returns. In fact, the model finished 300-252 on all its top-rated NBA picks. On top-rated NBA picks against the spread and on the money line alone, the model returned a whopping $4,280. Anybody who has followed it has seen huge returns.

Now, it has simulated Warriors vs. Spurs 10,000 times and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning under, and it’s also generated a point-spread pick that is hitting in well over 50 percent of simulations. You can only see the pick at SportsLine.

The Warriors have gone from one of the most dominant teams in the NBA to the opposite end of the spectrum with Steph Curry (hand) out for around three months. With Kevin Durant out of the equation, Golden State will need to lean on Green, who has been battling some back soreness himself. He is, however, expected to play in this matchup against the Spurs. The Warriors fell to 1-3 on the season after losing 121-110 to the Suns earlier this week. Golden State did get 20 points from forward Eric Paschall in that matchup, and he’s one of several players who will need to step up going forward.

Meanwhile, the Spurs were within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap on Thursday as they fell 103-97 to the L.A. Clippers. The Spurs were boosted by guard Derrick White, who had 20 points along with five rebounds. That was San Antonio’s first loss of the season after winning its first three games of the season.

A pair of stats to consider for this matchup: The Warriors have allowed their opponents to shoot 52.1 percent from the floor on average, which is the highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. The Spurs enter the game with a 47.5 field goal percentage, good for fourth best in the league, so Golden State will really need to play better on the defensive end to keep this game within the Warriors vs. Spurs spread.
