Madrid show Bailly interest

Eric Bailly has hardly been an unqualified success at Manchester United, but that doesn’t appear to have put off Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants now rumoured to be lining up a £35 million bid for the misfiring centre-back.

The Sun claims that Los Blancos are ready to end his Old Trafford exile and bring him to La Liga, which would represent quite a turnaround in fortunes for a defender who was nabbed from under Madrid’s nose by United in the summer of 2016.

The former Villarreal defender arrived in the north west for a fee of £30m but has underwhelmed in the United rearguard ever since. But Madrid clearly remember what an impact he had in Spain, with The Sun reporting that sources close to the player have heard that the Real believe the time has come for him to return south.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on rebuilding the United defence, he’s unlikely to stand in Bailly’s way should Madrid firm up their interest.

Could Richarlison switch Mersey-sides?

Few players have made the leap from Liverpool to Everton or vice versa, but reports in Brazil claim that Jurgen Klopp could be about to launch the most audacious swoop of his career as Liverpool boss.

UOL Esporte reports that Richarlison’s agent, Renato Velasco, recently visited the home of the Liverpool boss. Whether he was invited for a cup of tea or for something else remains to be seen, but it hasn’t taken long for the rumour bus to rev itself up to full speed and remove the handbrake.

Richarlison has been one of the shining lights at Goodison Park this year, despite Everton’s largely underwhelming form under new boss Marco Silva. And although the Brazilian is thought to be happy on Merseyside, it’s hard to believe that the prospect of lining up alongside the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, not to mention his compatriot Roberto Firmino, would not be a tempting one.

Fraser gunning for Arsenal move

Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser has been linked with Arsenal since Aaron Ramsey decided to boost his bank balance in Serie A. And the Mirror reports that the midfielder wouldn’t be averse to a switch following flattering interest from the North Londoners.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Fraser admitted that his head had been turned by the Gunners after rumours surrounding his future began circulating. “I’m not going to lie, it’s very nice,” he said. “It means you are doing something right. When you see your name thrown around you always think to yourself that you are a Bournemouth player and you try to do well. I’m not going to lie, you do feel good, especially when it’s a massive club.”

Translated that roughly equates to: “Come and get me!”

Tap-ins

Calciomercato is reporting that Marseille winger Florian Thauvin is ready to bid au revoir to the club and spark a three-pronged transfer dash for his services from Inter, Milan and Napoli.

– Manchester United have been handed a boost in their attempts to bring Samuel Umtiti to Old Trafford this summer, with the Frenchman getting on the wick of the powers that be at the Nou Camp. Spanish outlet Sport claims that Barca are peeved with the length of time it took him to sign a new deal and are tired of his reluctance to tell United to do one.
