Ferreira extends his stay with Munster

Cape Town – Former Lions defence coach JP Ferreira has extended his contract with PRO14 Rugby team Munster for another two years.

Ferreira, who left South Africa two seasons ago to join former Springbok assistant coach Johann van Graan at the Irish side, will stay at the team until at least 2022.

Under Ferreira the Lions reached a Super Rugby final and his good work continued at Munster as the province held the best defensive record in the PRO14 Rugby competition as well as the tightest defence in the European Champions Cup for the past two seasons.

Ferreira and Van Graan were recently joined by former Australian international Stephan Larkham, who will be coaching the backline for the team and this week former England prop Graham Rowntree joined the team in their High Performance Centre in Limerick.

Giving the side a further boost was the news that former Southern Kings flanker Chris Cloete is fit again and ready to play.

Munster are currently level at the top of PRO14 Rugby’s Conference B with fellow Irish side Connacht with three wins out of four matches played this season.
