Lamar Jackson is getting ready to defend his MVP award and lead the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl in 2020. Many Ravens fans gasped after the viral video that leaked of the MVP playing in a harmless beach football game over the weekend. 

Jackson was taped dodging defenders, like he does every NFL Sunday, but he took a tumble that wasn’t expected. The Ravens quarterback appeared to be avoiding a defender who had his foot out in an attempt to “tackle” Jackson. As Jackson was avoiding him, he did trip over a wave runner on impact and landed in the water. 

Whether Jackson was injured after the fall is unclear, as the video ends after the landing. 

The Ravens can not afford for anything to happen to their franchise quarterback heading into 2020, as their championship aspirations hinge on Jackson. If Jackson plays anywhere near like he did in 2019, the Ravens will be one of the top teams in football once again. 

Jackson became the first quarterback to throw for over 3,000 yards and rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season. He also had the most rushing yards by a QB in a season in NFL history (1,206), leading the league with 6.9 yards per carry and finishing with seven touchdowns. Jackson completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 3,127 yards, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions for a 113.3 passer rating. He led the NFL in touchdown passes and touchdown percentage (9.0) and his 43 total touchdowns led the league. 

Jackson was the AFC Offensive Player of the Week five times and was the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Month in November of last year. In the final eight games he played in the regular season, Jackson completed 69.4 percent of his passes for 1,477 yards, 25 touchdowns and just one interception. He also had 630 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. 

A major injury to Jackson and the Ravens’ championship aspirations for 2020 are nearly extinct. Baltimore may put Jackson on ice until training camp begins.
