Jay Harris will attempt to move closer to world title contention when he takes on Spain’s Angel Moreno for the vacant European flyweight title on Saturday at the Vale Sports Arena in Cardiff, Wales, in a fight that will stream live on ESPN+ at 3 p.m. ET.
Harris (15-0, 8 KOs), of Swansea, Wales, won the Commonwealth flyweight title in November with a third-round stoppage win over Ross Murray. Harris’ unbeaten record will be put to the test against Moreno.
In his last fight in March, Harris defeated Brett Fidoe by points.
Moreno (19-3, 6 KOs) lost a unanimous decision to Charlie Edwards challenging for the WBC world flyweight title in March.
Before that, Moreno had won nine consecutive fights, including a decision victory over Cristian Narvaez in October.
The stream will also include Craig Evans defending his regional lightweight belt vs. Stephen Ormond in a rematch.
Ormond (27-5, 13 KOs), from Ireland, lost a decision to Welshman Evans two years ago. That was one of two defeats in Ormond’s last five fights that have stalled his progress. Evans (19-2-2, 3 KOs) is rebuilding his career following a stoppage loss to Roman Andreev in February last year and he is looking for a third successive win to build momentum.
