‘It hasn’t really sunk in’ – US Open champ Bianca Andreescu’s victory lap hits Good Morning America, TODAY

Although the victory and all if its implications still hasn’t sunk in for Andreescu, the 19-year-old still took a moment to savor her skyrocketing rise – from outside the Top 100 at the start of the year, to the WTA’s new World No.5 as of today’s rankings.

“Last night before I went to bed, I just took a moment to be grateful,” she told Good Morning America. “Because it wasn’t easy. 

“I mean, I started playing tennis at the age of 7, and ever since then I’ve been dreaming of this moment. I mean, it’s another story for it to actually happen. So I’m just, like, truly blessed right now.”
