Marcel Hirscher wins the World Cup slalom event in Adelboden, Switzerland, sealing a fantastic start to 2012 for the Austrian.
Hirscher has won the first three events of the year, adding this victory to his wins in Thursday’s night slalom in Zagreb and Saturday’s giant slalom, also in Adelboden.
The slalom specialist held a joint-lead with Cristian Deville after the first run, but the Italian made costly errors on the second run and Hirscher saw off competition from 2011 slalom champion Ivica Kostelic to take gold.
