UTAH SCOUTING REPORT
The Utah Jazz enter Wednesday’s game firmly entrenched in the top five of the Western Conference after going 11-1 in their last 12 games. Their lone loss came in a tightly-matched overtime thriller vs. the red-hot New Orleans Pelicans. The stretch of 12 strong outings coincides with the acquisition of guard Jordan Clarkson, who joined the team after being traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has averaged 15.4 points per game with the Jazz as a new scoring threat off the bench the Warriors had not seen in their previous games against Utah this season. Clarkson joined a team that is among the NBA’s best this season in shooting percentage and three-point percentage, thanks to the efficiencies of their top scorers Donovan Mitchell (24.7 points on 2.3 three-point shots made per game), Bojan Bogdanovic (21.3 points, 3.0 threes made), and Rudy Gobert (15.3 points, 14.5 rebounds, 67.8 shooting percentage). As a testament to what he brings to the Jazz, Mitchell reached notable milestones when he became the first guard since Dwyane Wade to score more than 4,300 points, grab more than 750 rebounds and dish more than 750 assists in his first 200 games. The combined threat of Gobert’s size interior, Bogdanovic sharpshooting, and Mitchell’s skillset pose a similar threat to what the Warriors just faced on Monday night in Portland in their overtime matchup.
