Five things to know about the Pelicans on Dec. 3, 2019

1)      The NBA enacted a few changes to the schedule this summer to make national TV games more viewer-friendly nationally, which is why Tuesday’s New Orleans home game vs. Dallas will tip off at 6:30 p.m. Central (allowing the West Coast game between Portland and the Clippers to begin a half-hour earlier). TNT will have the broadcast; Fox Sports New Orleans returns Thursday for a Pelicans home game against Phoenix. Check out the latest New Orleans injury report.

2)      Tickets to Pelicans-Mavericks are available here. Tip-off should be closer to 6:45, if you’re concerned about making it to the Smoothie King Center for the jump ball, following your commute from work.

3)      Dallas radio broadcaster Chuck Cooperstein joined Monday’s Pelicans Podcast.

4)      Watch Monday post-practice interviews with Alvin Gentry and JJ Redick. Meanwhile, Jaxson Hayes joined kids and hosted a Lego party yesterday.

5)      New Orleans dropped to No. 22 on NBA.com’s power rankings this week, with the site noting that forward Kenrich Williams has been a positive: “Williams’ boxscore stats are modest, but he’s a plus-38 in 470 minutes for a team that’s 6-14, and the Pels have outscored their opponents by 8.4 points per 100 possessions in 226 total minutes with Williams, Jrue Holiday and J.J. Redick on the floor.” ESPN.com also lists the Pelicans 22nd, while The Athletic has them at No. 21. Other sites include SI.com (24) and CBS Sports (25).
