Channel 9 To Broadcast 2019 Netball World Cup

Netball Australia is delighted that Channel 9 has secured the exclusive broadcast rights to the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup taking place in Liverpool from 12-21 July.

It was announced today that all Samsung Australian Diamonds matches will be broadcast live on Nine’s Wide World of Sports and every Netball World Cup match throughout the tournament will be accessible via 9Now.

Netball Australia CEO Marne Fechner says it’s fantastic that Australian netball fans are going to have access to not only all Samsung Diamonds matches, but all Netball World Cup games taking place over the 10 days of action.

“Four years ago, we saw Australia embrace the Samsung Diamonds on their journey to ultimately claim the 2015 World Cup in Sydney. Whilst that seems like yesterday, I’m excited that the Australian public will once again be able to come on that journey as we take to the court in Liverpool to defend our world title,” she said.

“Nine have been great supporters of netball in Australia and we’re thrilled that all 60 matches of the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup will be available to Australian netball fans during the four-week break in the Suncorp Super Netball season.”

Nine’s Director of Sport Tom Malone said Channel 9 excited to be the exclusive rights holder for the 2019 Netball World Cup.

“It’s going to be a massive build-up through the Suncorp Super Netball series, and you can bet Lisa Alexander and the Diamonds will be out to exact revenge after going down in last year’s Commonwealth Games gold medal match against England,” he said.

Broadcast scheduling will be available closer to the event.
