England’s former middleweight world titleholder Billy Joe Saunders faces Serbia’s Shefat Isufi in the main event of a Top Rank on ESPN+ card at Lamex Stadium in Stevenage, England, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The fight is for the vacant WBO super middleweight title.
Saunders (27-0, 13 KOs) vacated his WBO middleweight world title in October after testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing drug. He was scheduled to fight Demetrius Andrade in Boston, but the fight was canceled when the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission rejected Saunders’ application for a boxing license because of the positive test for the banned stimulant oxilofrine.
Saunders returned in December to defeat Charles Adamu at Manchester Arena in fourth-round TKO victory.
Isufi (27-3-2, 20 KOs), who fights out of Germany, has won 10 fights in a row, including seven by stoppage, since losing to Dariusz Sek in July 2015. In his last outing in July, Isufi defeated Mohamed El Achi by unanimous decision in Munich.
