HEAD COACH ALVIN GENTRY

On matching up with Anthony Davis:
“Yeah, we’re familiar with him and he’s a tough matchup. He got them off to a good start and he even made the three-point shot, but I still thought we hung in the game… Just really tough. I thought we played well. I thought we tried to take the ball to the basket. We had 68 points in the paint and we shot seven free throws, but AD [Anthony Davis] was big and Danny Green did a good job of making big shots and getting separation. But I still thought that we continued to play.”

On the performance of Lonzo Ball:
“Zo [Lonzo Ball] has been playing well. He’s done a good job with the pace of the game and pushing it, and he’s done a good job of getting the ball in the paint and not finding somebody and just finishing himself, so I think he’s in a good place. I think he’s played well for us the last five or six games.”

On Lonzo Ball’s increased aggressiveness offensively:
“Well I think the key thing there is the aggressiveness you’re talking about. I think he’s been really aggressive. I think, like I said, he’s done a great job of, on makes and misses, of getting the ball and pushing it and trying to create some early offense for us and he’s been really good at that.”

GUARD LONZO BALL

On what’s been contributing to his impressive offensive performances lately:
“Like I said, I’m getting healthier. My body feels good, my confidence is where it’s supposed to be and the sky is the limit from there.”

On matching up against the Lakers:
“I mean you’ve got Bron [LeBron James] and AD [Anthony Davis]. It’s going to be hard for anybody. They’re a big team, they rebound the ball, they push the pace on the offensive end. It’s a tough matchup.”

On what he’s taken away from his time with the Lakers:
“I enjoyed my time here [as a Laker]. This is my hometown so I love playing in front of them and unfortunately, I was hurt both years, which is terrible for me, and I know, for the fans, but I wish them the best.”

FORWARD BRANDON INGRAM

On playing against the Lakers for the first time:
“It was cool. I met up with some people that have been here since I got drafted so it was good to see them, but it would’ve been good to get a win tonight.”

On Lonzo Ball’s play on the offensive end of the court as of late:
“Well he’s a big piece of what we’re doing to progress in each and every game. Him pushing the pace and knocking down his open shots and him having the intermediate game going a little bit, I think it’s been big for us to just keep on going and I think we’re trending in the right way.”

On what it meant to have the Lakers faithful showing love for him and his fellow former-Laker teammates:
“I appreciate the fans! The fans get us going every single night and for it to be the opposing team to give us some love like that, I give respect and love to them also.”
