HEAD COACH ALVIN GENTRY

On the end of the game:
“Why would we ‘despite what happened in the last minute?’ It’s going to determine the kind of season you’re going to have. I was disappointed in that. It was a great win. Anytime you can win on the road it’s a great win but obviously we have to do much better than that. We have to execute much better, we have to be smarter than that down the stretch.”

On 4th quarter defense:
“I thought we did about as good a job as you can on Book. He’s such a great scorer. I thought we did a really good job on him. We had stops when we had to and like I said, the game shouldn’t have come down to those plays. You live and you learn. We’ll look at it tomorrow and make sure we understand that no game in the NBA is over until the final buzzer goes off.”

On the 3rd quarter turnaround:
“I thought we did exactly what we did to start the game. We were moving the basketball, we were making cuts, we were finding open guys. We were driving and kicking and shooting open threes and then we got away from that in the second quarter. We came back out in the third quarter and I thought we did a really good job of really getting back to exactly what we did to be successful in the first place”

FORWARD BRANDON INGRAM

On JJ Redick and the team’s hot start:
“I never know what it is. He shoots the ball extremely well, so that’s what we look for. He’s had that for the past few games. He’s really shooting it well.”

On what got him going in the fourth quarter:
“Just seeing what the defense gives me. I noticed I was forcing it a little bit in the first half and not letting the game come to me. I was trying to open up the floor a little bit by passing it to my teammates and having some confidence on the wing in knocking down shots, then finally attacking the space and getting the best shot.”

GUARD JJ REDICK

On what was key to his good starts in each half:
“Well just taking what the defense gives you. Ball movement was good. I feel like I hit a couple in transition. Second half, hit a couple when they switched the big on to me. I just played aggressively. I had a couple heat checks in there that I missed, but sometimes you just have to live with those.”

On Brandon Ingram’s performance in the fourth quarter:
“He closed the game out for us. He was our closer tonight. He was phenomenal down the stretch.”

On what they did well defensively in the second half:
“We were mixing up our coverages with Booker at times. Again, we had some miscommunications at the end of the third there. That sort of stuff we’ve just got to clean up and that’s fixable.”
